Site FAQ
This page is just basically meant for answering questions that may arise about this site, and not about the series.
Q: Why is the site named as such?
A: ”Keishichou” is the equivalent of “Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department” in Japanese. Originally, it was supposed to be “Keishichou Database”, since the site was meant to be a database of information. Also, since the adventures of the Taiho Shichauzo cast isn’t always limited to Bokuto, I thought that using “Keishichou” would probably be better than using “Bokuto Station”. But while the site was still in progress in my hard disk, one other site had made use of the word “database”, and it didn’t seem right to use it anymore. So it became “Keishichou Network”.
Q: Your site looks familiar.
A: The organization of the site’s contents is based from Edward Chang’s Nekomi Kodai A!MG Fansite. As a matter of fact, my inspiration for this site came from him. As for this site’s actual contents, I had researched everything. Any information taken from other websites had been given credit. Some of my resources came from friends, others from my school library. And then there’s my TS collection here at home. The layout, however, is entirely mine (a product of many scrapped prototypes), and if there’s a webpage out there that is exactly like it, then it’s purely coincidential.
On the other hand, if you think that this current layout looks too much like the original one once located at Angelfire, you’re spot on. (laughs) It’s not that I’m completely lazy, though that’s probably part of the reason why. It’s also because I like to keep things simple, and the original site layout was pretty close to my idea of “simple”. I just tweaked things a bit for this version. Heh…
Q: Say, can I take some of the information you have and place it on my site?
A: As long as you take only what you truly need, give me proper credits in any information you take (along with the site I had taken the information from, if any), and have linked to my site, then that would be okay. I had spent months gathering information for this site, and I do not appreciate anybody leeching off anything from my hard work.
Q: Why did you build this site in the first place?
A: Because I wanted to build an informative Taiho Shichauzo site the same way that Mr. Chang did his A!MG site and Hitoshi-san did his Sailormoon site. Because I wanted to provide English information to TS fans so that they will not have to struggle with the Japanese sites. Because I have the right to. And because I really wanted to.
Q: Why don’t you place an image gallery in this site?
A: I’ve actually thought of that before. But there are already tons of sites out there that can already provide you with images from the series. I do not wish to add one more.
Q: MP3s?
A: No mp3s. Call me selfish if you may, but I had spent tons of money for these CDs alone, and I’m not willing to share them. Look somewhere else, or better yet, support the series by actually buying the CDs from CD Japan.
Q: How about a fanfiction/fanart page?
A: I am also the archivist for the You’re Under Arrest Fanfiction Mailing List, so I’ve already actually created a page that is solely devoted to Taiho Shichauzo! fan-made works. If you’re looking for such, visit Bokuto PS Archive. And join the mailing list!
Q: In what browser and resolution would the site look best?
A: For this current reincarnation, I made the site using 1440×900 resolution, and tested it using Firefox 2.0.0.9. I don’t know how it would look like in any other browser. I employed Wordpress for ease of updating, but that also means that your browser should definitely support stylesheets in order to view the pages properly.
Q: May I link to this page? And may you link to mine?
A: If you’re going to link to this page, please limit it only to the index page. And I would gladly link to yours, provided that I haven’t already asked you myself (particularly if your site is non-TS related)…
